AUTOMOBILE MAINTENANCE MB

Prerequisites: 

Complete 11a and 12 at home and bring your research with you to camp. 

Restrictions: Class size limited to 10


 
 

AVIATION MB

Obtain a copy of the merit badge pamphlet.  This merit badge pamphlet needs to be read before you come to winter camp.

Requirement #4, a, b, or c needs to be done before camp. We can not do it at winter camp.

Bring: Paper & writing instrument.

Be ready to do a lot in a short time working as a team.  


 
 

CITIZWNSHIP ON THE NATION MB

Obtain a copy of the merit badge pamphlet.  Read the material in the pamphlet related to Requirements 1, 4, 5 and 7.

Do #2 and #3 before Winter Camp and be prepared to discuss both.

For Requirement #2: Come with notes, pictures & photos and be prepared to do a 5 minute presentation.

For Requirement #3: Bring notes from the news broadcasts including: what was said and by whom, or bring the 5 front pages. Be prepared to discuss. 

For Requirement  #6: Bring a copy of your selected speech and be ready to answer questions about it.

ELECTRICITY MB

Prerequisites:

Req 2 - Complete an electrical home safety inspection of your home, using the checklist found in this pamphlet or one approved by your counselor. Discuss what you find with your counselor. 

Req 8 - Make a floor plan wiring diagram of the lights, switches, and outlets for a room in your home. Show which fuse or circuit breaker protects each one.

Req 9 - Do the following:
    a. Read an electric meter and, using your family's electric bill, determine the energy cost from the meter readings. 
    b. Discuss with your counselor five ways in which your family can conserve energy. 


 
 

ELECTRONICS MB

Prerequisites:

Req 6. Find out about three career opportunities in electronics that interest you. Discuss with and explain to your counselor what training and education are needed for each position. 
 
 


 
 

FIRST AID MB

Prerequisites:

Requirements #1 Must have first aid skills up to and including First Class.

#2d Make a first aid kit for your home and bring picture of kit to camp.
 


 
 

GAME DESIGN MB

Prerequisites:

Scouts should come with game design ideas.

Scouts should be prepared to design indoor games (either board games or pen & paper games. They can design outdoor games but we may not be able to test them at camp).

Scouts should bring any specific boards, pieces, or other particular materials for building the prototype of their game.  (Valuable or hard-to-replace pieces should not be brought !)

Scouts are encouraged to look at the game design book but it is not required as we will be going over specific terms and definitions in class.

Scouts should come prepared with paper and pens/pencils for note taking. 


 
 

GEOCACHING MB

Prerequisites:

 Requirement #8 Do one and bring documentation

A GPS device is helpful but not required.
 


 
 

ORIENTEERING MB

Prerequisites:

Should have map & compass requirements completed through First Class.
Requirement #7 - Take part in two orienteering events before winter camp.

Bring an orienteering quality compas


 
 

PROGRAMMING MB

Prerequisites:

1 - Earn and bring your "Cyber Chip" card. 
 


 
 

SCOUTING HERITAGE MB

Prerequisites:

Requirements 4, 5 & 6 must be completed prior to camp and responses/collections should be brought with you to be shared and discussed.

Bring: Materials/Documentation for requirements 4, 5 & 6 as well as a notebook with writing utensil.

A lot of the class time will be spent discussing the History of Scouting as well as interviewing various Scouters about their experiences in Scouting. 


 
 

SHOTGUN SHOOTING MB

Prerequisites:

Obtain a copy of the merit badge book and read it before winter camp.

Bring: Paper & writing instrument for notes and reports.

Bring: Warm cloths - we will be outside for 3 hours plus. 


 
 

SNOW SPORTS MB (SNOWSHOE OPTION)

Prerequisites:

Read the entire pamphlet, skimming the other sports.  Bring the book to Winter Camp.

If you have your own snowshoes you are welcome to bring them.  Camp has snowshoes you may use if you don't have your own.


 
 

TRAFFIC SAFETY MB

Prerequisites:

Obtain a copy of the merit badge book.  It is recommended that you read it before winter camp.

Bring: Paper & writing instrument for notes and reports. 
 
 


 
 

WELDING MB

Prerequisites:

Get the merit badge pamphlet and read it before Winter Camp. 

You will need leather boots, jeans or canvas pants and long sleeve shirt.
